Admission with foreign studies to Official Degrees
Students
from education systems of member states of the European Union or from
other states that have pre-existing international agreements with the
principle of reciprocity will be admitted to the Spanish university,
provided the mentioned students fulfil the academic entry requirements
that have been established for university admission by their education
systems.The following education systems can follow this admission process: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, European Schools, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, International Baccalaureate, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
They must submit the credentials issued by the UNED. The application for the Admission Credentials will be carried out on the platform UNEDAssis.
Instructions for the application process:
- Once the student’s details have been registered, in accordance with their origin they will choose:
- The continent and country and a drop-down menu will open. For the countries listed in Annex 1, this option must be chosen.
- From the services offered, as there is no competitive process, the online students must begin by selecting one of the following options:
- Certificate to prove minimum entry requirements have been met
- Qualification for Spanish University Admission
- The student registers and initiates a new application, choosing the option Individual Processing.
- In the degrees with numerus clausus, in the UEMC this only affects degrees from the Health Science faculty, the student, if they wish, may be assessed out of 10, by doing the specific tests that the UNED organises.
- For
students whose studies are from the scientific branch of Baccalaureate
and for those degrees for which this might offer an advantage, they are
able to request the service of Modalidad de Bachillerato Realizada. This
service ensures that their specialisation in the scientific branch of
Baccalaureate is reflected on their records.
STUDENTS ORIGINATING FROM EDUCATION SYSTEMS FROM COUNTRIES WITHOUT INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS
Students coming from education systems that belong to countries that do not have corresponding international agreements with the principle of reciprocity for degree recognition will be able to access the official degree programmes, provided their studies have been approved by the corresponding Spanish university. They do not need to request credentials.Students who have proof of having submitted the corresponding application for approval will be able to apply for provisional admission while the mentioned procedure is resolved. Students who have partially completed foreign university studies
Students who have partially completed foreign university studies or have completed their foreign university studies but did not obtain approval or equivalency in Spain and wish to continue their studies in a Spanish university.In this case, recognition of at least 30 ECTS by the UEMC will be an essential requirement for the admission process.
(*) In all of the cases mentioned above, foreign, non-native Spanish speaking students will have to be accredited in their Spanish language skills and present a B1 level certificate (according to the CEFR) for admission to the Degree.
Admission with foreign studies to Official Master´s Programmes
Foreign university graduates from EHEA and university graduates outside of EHEA with recognised degrees:
- A copy of the ID/NIE Card or Passport
- A copy of the EHEA University Degree that allows admission to the Master’s Programme or certificate of recognition (in the case of approved titles). Official translation, if necessary.
University graduates without recognition in countries outside of EHEA:
- A copy of the ID/NIE Card or Passport
- A copy of the University Degree that allows admission to the Master’s programme, legalised. Official translation if necessary.
- A legalised certificate issued by the foreign university that has issued the degree, stating that the completed studies allow access to postgraduate studies in the country where the foreign university is located. Official translation, if necessary.
Foreign, non-native Spanish speaking students will have to be accredited in their Spanish language skills and present a B1 level certificate (according to the CEFR) for access to the Degree.
Document Legalisation
For the documents to take effect in Spain, they must be legalised first. Unless an international convention, treaty or agreement exists that exempts their legalisation, it will be done in accordance with the following:LEGALISATION THROUGH DIPLOMATIC CHANNELS (countries without agreement)
Legalisation through diplomatic channels is the procedure used to legalise the foreign public documents that have been issued by states that do not have a signed agreement to facilitate this procedure. In general, the process involves each of the implicated authorities legalising the document.If it is a document that has been issued by a non-consular authority in the country of origin, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the state of origin and the diplomatic representation or Spanish consulate in the said state will be involved in the process.
If it is a document that has been issued by a duly accredited consular in Spain, the legalisation department of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation will be involved in the legalisation process.
DOCUMENTS ISSUED BY MEMBER STATES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION OR SIGNATORIES OF THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA AGREEMENT
Are exempt from legalisation formality. Only an official translation is necessary.Documents issued in countries that have signed the Hague Convention. The Universal legalisation or ‘The Hague Apostille’ issued by relevant authorities of the country is required.
- In the nearest Spanish Embassy or Consulate, you can obtain information on authorities or officials authorised in universal legalisation or the Hague Apostille.
- Spanish embassies or consulates in other countries
Documents issued in countries that have signed the Andrés Bello Convention.
Documents originating from the following countries: Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Spain and Venezuela, will have to be legalised through diplomatic channels (the procedure eliminates the previous formality of the ordinary legalisation). For the legalisation, documents must be presented in the following three places:- The Ministry of Education in the country of origin for study degrees and certificates.
- The corresponding ministry for birth and nationality certificates, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country where the mentioned documents were issued.
- The diplomatic representation or the Spanish Consulate in the said country.
Documents issued in all other countries
The mentioned documents must be legalised through diplomatic channels and presented in each of the following places:- The Ministry of Education in the country of origin for study degrees and certificates and in the Corresponding Ministry for birth and nationality certificates.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country where the mentioned documents were issued.
- The diplomatic representation or the Spanish Consulate in the said country.
